A world better led A world better served A world better governed
This is the mission of the Blavatnik School of Government, one of the newest departments of Oxford Uni.
Their aim is to improve the quality of government and public policy-making worldwide.
Given that Oxford have produced twenty-six British prime ministers, at least 30 international leaders and several hundred other politicians it's no surprise a school of government has opened here.
And have you seen the building? If not, you should!
It was founded in 2010, thanks to a £75 million donation by American philanthropist Leonard Blavatnik and the building was developed by the Tate Modern architects Herzog & de Meuron.
Its huge glass panels and curved walls, flooded with natural light are a far cry from the dreaming spires of Oxford but there's no doubt that its modern, bold architecture is eye catching and, as the sun reflects off every inch of the building, pretty mesmerising.
Though, personally, I'd still vote for the stone quads and spires any day...

The “Window to the world” above the entrance is the largest double glazed single pane of glass in Europe (10.5m x 3.2m)
