This week the 'That Oxford Girl' student ambassadors were out in force at Pho restaurant!
The restaurant is located on the rooftop of Westgate, Oxford, so very much in the hub of the city. It really is a student's dream with affordable, healthy, fresh dishes all cooked on site each day.
Pho very kindly hosted a three course dinner, with drinks, for 15 of the TOG team and it really was a taste sensation; we started with sharing platters of spring and summer rolls and then each ordered a delicious main course. I tucked into the PHỞ XÀO CHICKEN - wok-fried noodles with all the trimmings and many of my ambassadors enjoyed a delicious bowl of the famous PHO - Vietnam’s amazingly tasty national dish.
Hosting the event, I was conscious of my distinct lack of ability to use chopsticks, certain that I wasn't going to be able to get a single noodle in my mouth but with some tips from the TOG team I may just have learnt a new skill...
Next it was time for pudding, where we enjoyed a lovely selection of banana fitters, chocolate truffles and passion fruit cheesecake. The best bit - PHO was literally allergen heaven - so many of us commented on how when you're gluten/dairy/nut free etc, options in restaurants can be hugely limiting and often pudding is reduced to a 'fruit salad' but at Pho, the options were literally endless!
The staff were super friendly and made us all feel really welcome - I definitely recommend popping in to try it for yourself. I can assure you, you will have a PHOnomenal time!
