Last weekend, some of the TOG team visited Branca, one of my all-time favourite restaurants in Jericho.
Here is what they thought:
The restaurant on Walton street at the heart of Jericho. The restaurant itself is so beautiful inside; large glass doors let in so much natural light, fairylights everywhere and olive trees. Inside, they have different sculptures by Oxford-based artist Rachel Ducker – she creates beautiful wire sculptures of bodies in different states of movement, and the pieces fit beautifully into the ambience of the restaurant. The food was amazing; there is so much to choose from, from stone-baked pizza to beetroot and goat’s cheese risotto (a highlight was the starter of crispy fried squid!). There is also a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (the mocktails are also amazing). The restaurant has such a beautiful
atmosphere and I can’t wait to go again!"
Had a fantastic evening at Branca in Jericho at the weekend. I tried a few different items from the menu, and would have had more if I hadn’t been so stuffed on the wonderful food! We started with crispy squid, but only got one plate to share, to save room for the big event – the mains! My boyfriend got a classic steak, which was cooked to perfection, but I think I won the battle of ordering with my chicken wrapped in Parma ham – very tasty indeed. We managed to squeeze in dessert, with the special of the day, the Crème Brulee, and again it was delicious.
The cocktails were a highlight – I had the mojito, something that I don’t usually go for, but it went down very nicely. The service was brilliant – our waitress was especially attentive and did an especially good job of making us feel at home. Overall, the atmosphere of the restaurant was vibrant, but still felt cosy; a place perfect for a date (or mates) night!
