Less than a month to go! Here’s what I use as a checklist of things to take:
Essential documents
Passport
Driving / provisional licence/ some form of ID
Bank details and bank card
Student Finance documents
Useful documents
National insurance number
Some form of document with your home address, e.g. bank statement
Student acceptance letter
Vaccination history / any medical documents you have
Accommodation documents if not in college
Studying materials
Plenty of pens, highlighters, pencils, ruler, rubber, sharpener, pen holder, pencil case
Paper (of your preference, and not just in notepads, as tutors may ask for handwritten work on paper)
Graph paper (for STEM students)
Folders and dividers
Plastic wallets
Scissors

Hole-punch

Post-it notes
Pins (you’ll typically have a pin board)
Rucksack/canvas bag to carry these in
(Whiteboard and whiteboard pens)
(Paper holder to help organise all your paper)

ACADEMIC DIARY (very useful for organising your time and keeping up with tutorial timings, lectures etc.)

Pan and spatula (typically for induction hobs)

2 sets of bedding (wash one, use the other): pillow cases, duvet cover, mattress cover
Big bag (e.g. shopping bag or large canvas bag) to carry laundry
Laundry tablets (can be bought in town)
Stain remover
Soap for the sink in my room
Clothes horse, pegs and clothes hangers
Decorations (e.g. fairly lights, photos, small plants etc.)
Personal belongings (many of these can be bought in town if need be)
Personal medication
Paracetamol, cold tablets, cough mixture, plasters, small first aid kit
Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, toothpaste, deodrant etc.
Toothbrushes
Nail cutters, tweezers

Body and hair towels (with spares to go in the wash)

SUBFUSC : white shirt with collar, black tights/socks, black skirt/trousers, black shoes (see other posts)
Shoes (at least 1 pair good for walking around lots)
Miscellaneous

Bum bag/waist bag

Bicycle and helmet (if using one)
Hobbies related: gym bag, music stand etc.
