I went along to Cookpad’s first Oxford workshop. Cookpad holds free (yes, free!) cooking workshops and is keen to get students to attend and learn how to make delicious, nutritional food despite the limited time and budget that many students have.
Former MasterChef contestants Yui and Nawamin guided us through making dumplings, Thai green curry and a Thai salad, sharing their hints and tips for making simple yet effective food.
Those attending had a range of cooking experience and everyone was made to feel welcome - no question was stupid and no attempt was laughed at!
As a student who loves cooking (but is by no means an expert!) I really did learn a lot - in particular that shaping dumplings is incredibly therapeutic.
To top it all off, we finished the session by eating our creations for lunch. It was definitely a morning well spent!
