Yay for my favourite day of the TOG termly calendar!
Today we had our TOG student ambassador meeting - a chance for the TOG team to get together over a delicious breakfast!
This term we were hosted by the lovely George Street Social. This has always been one of my favourite spots to pop in for a coffee and the TOG team have got to know it better over the last few months, thanks to a few delightful bottomless brunches...!
We were welcomed with a tasty selection of teas, coffees, juices, pastries and avo on toast - the dream!
With 50+ student ambassadors in attendance the room was buzzing!
To start with, we reflected on some of the achievements from last term:
• Launched 'Feature Friday' - sharing the student ambassadors' amazing stories!
• Insta Lives – we did a series of Insta Lives in the run-up to interviews with bloggers/YouTubers including Ellen Brewster, Sarah Khan, Gurmehar Kaur, Maninder Sachdeva - thousands of you tuned in!
• Blog was reaching 10,000 hits a week in the run-up to interviews
• Feedback from applicants – I shared your messages (anonymously) with the TOG team showing just how much impact the platform is having!
We are so excited by your feedback - it’s incredible to see how many of you said TOG gave you the confidence to consider Oxford Uni as an option!
After a few fun exercises discussing various aspects of Oxford that we LOVE (it is Valentine’s week after all!) I shared some of the goodies kindly gifted to the scheme by our favourite brands.
Huge THANK YOU to:
Space NK - for the lovely box of Ren goodies. Here at TOG we’ve been a huge fan of Space NK ever since being introduced to the brand at their beauty evening last year. Highly recommend popping into their store on the High Street for FREE pre-ball makeovers!
New Ground Coffee - this cool & contemporary new coffee shop in Headington trains up ex-offenders as baristas/coffee roasters as a route back to employment. They shared some of their yummy freshly ground coffee with the TOG team!
Fudge Kitchen - a true supporter of TOG since the start, I was so excited to share some of their tasty treats! Make sure you head to their Broad Street Kitchen to get your student 2 for 3 fudge on Fudge Fridays!
Wonky Food Co - a new sponsor of our TOG meeting, sharing some of their delicious relishes! This lovely brand is committed to tackling food waste by creating great-tasting products that make use of imperfect and surplus fruit & veg. Available in the Co-op on Walton Street or Bar Tear Drop in the Covered Market.
& of course the George Street Social for hosting - detailed post on this lovely spot coming soon but let me say for now, a cute and cosy location for brunch, dinner and evening drinks, with super friendly staff and the tastiest coffee in town. Massive thank you to Peter for welcoming the team and continuing to collab with us throughout the term!
It’s always so lovely to catch up with the TOG team and see different students, from different year groups and colleges form new friendships through the scheme!
We are so excited for the term ahead and determined to keep opening those doors to Oxford Uni!
